Photography Contest Results

Thankyou everyone that entered our photography contest. The response was amazing and we are happy to announce we made a massive £448 in donations. This money raised will make a big difference to the animals in our care.

We had some amazing entries and we really enjoyed looking at your lovely photos. We had 161 photos in total to get down to our finalists, its was not an easy job. These were chosen by some independent judges at The Centre where we managed to get it down to 18. The finalist photos were then sent to our president Susan Jameson and her husband James Bolan to choose the winner.

The winner of the photo contest received a drawn portrait of there pet by Penny Kirk Pet Portraits who we cant thank enough for donating this prize to us.

So… here’s your winners! Susan has also left her comments on all are finalists.

1st Place

Congratulations to our winner Becky Cordwell!!

Susan’s thoughts of the photo:  Such an amazing picture  –  the dramatic feel of the Cat alone on a beach. Not a soul in sight behind. Why? How Long?  You know there must be quite a story there! And the picture quality is great.

2nd Place - Alison Lashley

Again there's a story here - who is near? - is there a threat? And the eyes are amazing.

I just love the colours here. The contrast of the plain black of the cat with the luxuriant flowers of the lilac is lovely.

In fact – every picture on the short list deserves a prize! We know how hard it is to get animals to co-operate, just to be in the right place when you want them, and to stay there while you grab your camera or phone! It’s often just luck that we catch the moment, and then they turn away as you snap ’em! Happens to me all the time!

So – huge congrats and big thanks to all who took part! We hugely enjoyed looking at all the entries on the short list. They all made us smile, and touched our hearts.  How very lucky we are to have these great animals in our lives.

Again the colour co-ordination is so good - the rabbit completely matches the bricks behind - lovely soft greys and pinks -v soothing look.
